2013 Citroen Cactus concept
With the Cactus Citroen shows at the IAA a very special concept car, to dispense with superfluous, but at the same time much attention was paid to the well-being.
The Cactus is a mix of compact car and SUV and brings the new line of Citroen design to the next level. Flowing contours and the floating rear side of the roof line and give the cactus a very dynamic touch.
With a length of 421 cm, the cactus is very stretched and yet extremely brawny. A new way to individualize the offer Airbumps that not only refresh the design, but also provide protection from parking accidents.
Inside, Citroen has focused on the essentials and thus provides a good overview. The slim, floating dashboard, the ground remains completely free and offers so much room for the passengers who take on sofa like seats.
A 7 "screen replaced the instrument cluster, and all control buttons, which are otherwise always scattered in the center console, can be found at the Cactus on an 8" touch screen in the middle part of the floating dashboard.
The conventional gear selection lever is replaced by a selection button in the lower part of the dashboard and the steering wheel paddles. The panoramic roof with thermal protection function lets light into the interior, but no heat.
The drive of the new Citroen Cactus Air hybrid technology is used. This full hybrid solution combines compressed air and hydraulics with a gasoline engine from the PureTech family. Thus, the consumption should be as low as 3 liters per 100 kilometers.
Even if the cactus is not going into production, he shows how a cheap Citroen could look with plenty of comfort in the near future.
